Help Me Build a Glass Blowing Studio in downtown Ketchum!

Let’s build an awesome artist space in downtown Ketchum.  The warehouse space behind, but part of, the Next Stage Theater is a good spot.  1,500 of the available 5,000 square feet is for the Glass Blowing studio.  It will be a state of the art teaching facility.  How shall we fill the rest of the space, 3,500 square feet?

I believe that with the people I know and in this town, we could easily raise a million dollars.  20% goes to the Next Stage.  80% goes to the “Back Space.”  We will bring this old, cool warehouse space up to snuff and build something really fantastic.

We are having a brainstorming session at the Next Stage Theater on main street from 4pm-5pm on Wednesday, January 27th, 2010.  We will meet in the theater and write down ideas to consider for our masterpiece.

One of my ideas to share is:  instead of the old fashion way of having artists pay for a space, I would like to have a space for artists to get paid, hopefully $26/hour anytime they want to work, share, and teach.  Let me know if this is a good fit for you and I’ll add you to our exciting list of sharing artists.

Hilary Neely with the Ballet School would like to be part of this.  Maybe we build a mezzanine?

Come share your experience, strengths and hope for our community center!

I look forward to seeing you!
